The Wine Country Shawlette pattern is now available!
This is the perfect little project to work on while enjoying all that Oregon Wine Country has to offer. The bobbles are reminiscent of ripe grapes on the vine, and once you are familiar with the cadence of the pattern, it will only take part of your attention, letting you concentrate on the sights and flavors around you, as well.

The pattern is available either as a download on Ravelry, or as a hard copy in the shop.

Designed by Shannon Squire. This pattern was originally published as part of Twisted’s Head to Toe Club in February 2012. Now you, too, can share the love. Get a hard copy in our shop or on our webstore, or an electronic version via Ravelry.

Zig and zag your way through this fun project. This hat is a little bit slouchy and a lot bit fun to knit. The added bonus is that it’s completely reversible – the reverse- stockinette look is the one you are actually knitting. It only uses about 200 yards of a heavy sport to DK-weight yarn, and looks great with a highly variegated skein.

Yarn: Approx. 200 yards DK weight yarn. Samples shown in one skein of madelinetosh tosh dk, (100% Superwash Merino Wool, 225 yds/100g), colorway Filigree (green) and Malabrigo Arroyo (100% Superwash Merino Wool, 335 yds/100g), colorway Arco Iris. Gauge: 22 sts & 28 rows = 4 inches/10 cm in stockinette st.
Needles: US #5/3.75mm needles (or size YOU need to get gauge), for your preferred method of circular knitting, and a needle one size smaller.

This pattern was originally released as part of Twisted’s Mad About Tosh Club in February 2012. Now you can get it as a hard copy either in the shop or from our webstore, or electronically via Ravelry.

Portland can be a bit… damp in the winter. Knitting shawlettes helps me laugh at those clouds, and keep that sun in my heart. It’s a glorious feeling when you’ve got a shawlette like this to wear. The short rows add both knitting interest and give the finished piece a great shape – it hugs you as you wear it, just like good knitting should.

Get out the tape measure, folks, because this one pattern will allow you to create perfectly sized custom gloves for everyone you know. Full fingers, partial fingers, or no fingers. You decide! A little bit of math is well worth the reward of the best fitting gloves you’ve ever knit.

Yarn: 250 yards fingering or sport weight yarn for full gloves. Full gloves sample shown in Hazel Knits Artisan Sock, colorway Plum Glace. Fingerless mitts sample shown in Mini Mochi, color 110 Jungle (pictured worn over full gloves).
Gauge: Find a fabric you like for your gloves, but a gauge of 6-8 sts/inch is recommended. Work your gauge swatch in the round.
Needles: Somewhere between US #1 and US #3 (whatever size gives you your desired gauge) for your preferred method of working in the round (double pointed, two circulars, or magic loop).
Notions: Stitch markers, tapestry needle, two lengths of waste yarn for stitch holders, calculator, small crochet hook (optional).
Skill level: Intermediate.
Size/Finished measurements: Sized to fit your hands! As written will easily adapt to fit hand sizes 6 to 9″ palm circumference.

Now available! Designed by Kat Buckspan. Available for $4 as a hard copy in store or from our webstore, or electronically via Ravelry.

This dramatic double-loop cowl utilizes a simple cable pattern to create a fantastically cozy and squishy accessory. The swooping planes of the fabric are reminiscent of tectonic plates diving below each other and are the inspiration for the pattern’s name. Worked in heavy-worsted weight yarn, it’s quicker to knit than you might think, and more fun to wear than you can imagine.

Mt. Bachelor is named as such because it stands apart from the group of mountains known as the Three Sisters in Central Oregon. Hence, the one large cable and three small ones in this pattern. Bachelor is also a popular ski destination, referenced here in the repeating diamond (as in black diamond like the ski slope difficulty rating) motif, as well as in bobbles reminiscent of snow.

Save Our Shawls! In the middle of a TV cop drama explanation of Morse Code and SOS, Sam’s mind leaped to knitting (wouldn/t everyone’s?). The dot, dot, dot and dash, dash, dash soon became yarn over, yarn over, yarn over and dropped stitch, dropped stitch, dropped stitch. Oh the possibilities!

In the end she settled on a combination of striping the two together, mixed with a little stockinette and garter stitch for texture. This SOS may not call in the cavalry, but we think it’s a great way to save yourself from plain tee shirts and knitting boredom!

This shawl was originally published as part of Twisted’s Shawlette Club in November 2011. Now it’s available to everyone either in our shop or on our webstore!

Designed by Chrissy Gardiner of Gardiner Yarn Works.

This nature-inspired shawlette features three different lace leaf motifs and is named after Mt. Mazama, the ancient mountain that exploded to form southwestern Oregon’s spectacular Crater Lake. Your finished object will be just as stunning!

This design has several fun details: a knit-on border, a subtle swallowtail shape with two points at the bottom edge instead of one, and a small peak at the back of the neck. Worked as written, this petite shawlette uses a single skein of sock yarn. However, it can easily be expanded into a full-size shawl with extra yarn simply by adding additional pattern repeats.
