For April we’re going back to a photo contest format, and want you all to do some flashing of your own. Oh god! No! Not that! Put your shirt back on. April’s photo contest is “Flash your Stash!” (as in- snap a picture of it. Don’t actually flash it. I mean, you can if you want, it’s yarn and it won’t judge, but don’t submit a picture of you flashing it. Please.)

We’re not sure yet what will constitute a winning picture, so feel free to be creative. Maybe it’ll be the biggest, or the prettiest, or the most colorful, or the best organized, or the funniest. Who knows? The only requirement is that it features your stash. But whatever picture makes us laugh/smile/drool/gasp the most will win you a set of easy-on-the-hands Kollage Square double pointed needles (size 1, 6″) and an H2O+ hand care set (hand and nail cream and antibacterial gel) to help you get that stash knitted up.

Jocelyn: The craziest place was this: I had a very intimate (and uncomfortable) procedure performed by my OB/GYN, and I knit through the whole thing to distract me. He was very surprised!

Joshin: My fiancée and I felt it was incumbent upon us to open the eyes of a friend of ours, an innocent, young man. She suggested that the two of us take him to a strip club, and I insisted that, as a man, it be one that would have good, cheap steak.
We took a housemate of ours along with us on this cheerful romp, and I sat back as my friends took in the view. I was grateful that the smoking ban had come in to effect as I pulled out my knitting and worked on my sock yarn scarf— the second project I had ever started.

March’s contest is a fun one- our first ever knitting limerick contest! (Try to keep ‘em family friendly, folks.)
In case you need a refresher, a limerick is a short little poem with a AABBA rhyme scheme, often comical (or attempting to be comical, anyway.) An example:

There once was a man from Great Britain
Who interrupted two girls at their knittin’
Said he with a sigh,
“That park bench, well I
Just painted it right where you’re sittin’.”

Now it’s time for October’s contest! This month we’re back to photos, with the theme being “Knits and Animals”. Does your dog need a sweater? A cat in your hat? Is your goldfish a mite bit chilly now that fall has rolled around? Dress ‘em up and snap a shot! (Just make sure to undress them before they get mad or snag on anything!)

Take the picture that makes us laugh the hardest and you’ll get this delightful silk-crepe-and-velvet tote!

Perfect for knitting or lugging around small dogs.

- The knits do not have to be FOR the animal, they can be any knits you want
- Babies, children, and other such human creatures will not count as animals… unless they are dressed as animals who are dressed in knits. Then we can talk.
