Learning New Languages at Twisted

Sometimes, it seems like crafters speak their own language. Gauge, tension, ease, ply, draft; we know these words, but what they mean in crafting context can be mysterious. If you’d like to be illuminated, we have some great opportunities coming up!

Gauge

First up, we’re excited to offer Debbi Stone’s It’s All About the Gauge, Wednesday, June 3, from 5:30-7:30pm. If you’ve ever struggled getting or understanding gauge, Debbi will teach you everything you need to know about swatches. Gauge is the important first step in any project, and you’ll find yourself becoming an adept with Debbi’s tips and insight.

Knitted Wit Roving 1

Looking for a new experience? Megan will be teaching Beginning Wheel Spinning, starting Thursday, June 4, from 5:30-7:30pm. This 3 session class will introduce you to basic spinning techniques and terminology, including how to draft, spin and ply yarn from wool roving, as well as a discussion of basic yarn design. The Black Sheep Gathering is just around the corner, making this is the perfect time to dive into the wonderful, fleecy, world of spinning.
