snowbird-love_mediumI have this sweater. It’s one of the bestest sweaters ever – I love the pattern, I love the yarn, I love the color, I love the comfiness of it. The only problem is, the gauge of the sweater is a bit looser than the yarn I used most loves. And the yarn (WooBu from Blue Moon Fiber Arts) is soft. And I really did wear the sweater every single day when I first made it. So therefore, major pillage occurred. To the point where this gorgeous sweater was relegated to at-home wearage only. Sad, particularly since it’s been a sweater-making and wearing kind of season here at Twisted. So, the other day, I brought home the neatest, niftiest little tool, and I do declare is a miracle worker!

collins-sweater-comb-200px-200px It’s called the D-Fuzz-It Sweater Comb. Retailing at a whopping $3, it’s a no-brainer stocking stuffer for a crafty person on your list or yourself (hey! Nothing wrong with putting a few Very Useful Tools in your own stocking, right?) I combed and I combed and I combed. The pile of fuzz to your right is not even all of it – one pile was inadvertently thrown into the compost bin before I could snap a photo. I will warn you not to be too enthusiastic – if you comb too much, too hard, in the same small area, you do run the risk of yarn breakage (ask me how I know!).

I’ve been wearing my Snowbird Cardi once again, and let me tell you, I am one happy knitter. It’s super comfy and once again looks like a dream. If you’ve got a sweater that you just can’t bring yourself to wear because you’ve worn it too much, grab one of these puppies and get combing.

  1. I wonder how much wool content is left on this gorgeous sweater?! Great save. 😀
