You know that drawer full of not-quite-FO’s you’ve got hidden in your closet? All those sweaters needing seaming and buttons, socks with ungrafted toes, and oh-so-many unwoven ends everywhere? (*ahem*, not that I have any drawers like that, or anything…)
It’s time to get down to business. Let our gal Parna show you how to finish those puppies the right way (plus a few tricks for later.)

Learn the finishing skills that will give your projects a refined look. See list of techniques below and suggest what else you want to learn.
Date/Time: Saturday, March 23; 12 noon to 3pm
Materials: Worsted weight yarn and needles needed to achieve gauge.
Homework: Please bring SIX swatches as follows:(2) entirely in garter stitch (knit every row), NOT bound off (that means with live stitches on one end).(2) entirely in stockinette stitch (knit a row, purl a row), NOT bound off (that means with live stitches on one end).(2) entirely in stockinette stitch (knit a row, purl a row), bound off.Students who do not complete the homework will not be able to practice all the skills covered in the class, but can observe demonstration and their classmate
Skills learned: Kitchener stitch (grafting), mattress stitch, 3 needle bind off, blocking, how to weave in ends (duplicate stitch and splitting stitch methods), picot edges, applied i-cord, and others as requested.
Just think: you spent all that time knitting it, it’s time to put the finishing touches on and start wearing it! (says the person with absolutely NO giant drawers of unfinished projects. NONE.)
