Intro to Lace Workshop
Date/Time: Saturdays, February 16 & 23; 1-3 pm
Always wanted to learn lace, but felt intimidated by the instructions? Fear no more, because Michelle will help you get comfy with lace knitting. This class is an overview of lace knitting, and an introduction to reading lace patterns, both in written and charted form.
Materials – either bring your own or before/during class get 20% off on: Apprx 400 yards fingering weight yarn (a solid color & not too dark), US 3 needles (or size needed to get gauge of 27 sts/ 4 inches), stitch markers, darning needle.
Includes: Japanese Vines pattern by Michelle Molis.
Homework: Scarf dimensions are 6” wide x 69” long or 7.5″ wide x 49” long. For the longer, narrower version cast on 47 stitches. For the shorter, wider version cast on 55 stitches. Use a cable cast on or your favorite stretchy cast on. Knit 5 rows
Skills learned: Yarn over, slip-slip-knit, reading a chart.
