WITWI Emilyshmemily Contest #3
Congrats to Cathy S for figuring out all the answers to last week’s Where in the World is Emilyshmemily contest! The location was Budapest, Hungary and the pattern was EZ’s Baby Surprise Jacket. Cathy wins a copy of the BSJ pattern and a hand made set of stitch markers from Hungary that look like tiny little nesting dolls. Cathy – please email me (emily at twistedpdx dot com) so we can get you your prizes when I get home!
Thanks to everyone who played and shared their memories of Budapest. A gorgeous place – though it was almost 100 degrees while we were there. Whew. Quite a thing for a gal used to Portland!
Now let’s play some more Where in the World is Emilyshmemily!!!!
Here are the rules (note slightly different from last week!):
- If we’re friends and you actually straight up know where I am, sit on your hands and give someone else a chance.
- The prizes are pretty rad (I think). A crafty souvenir from this place AND a copy of the pattern in question. I’ll even pay for slow as molasses shipping if you live in the US or Canada. (When I get back to the States!)
- First person to post on this blog post with the correct answers to all of the questions below wins the prize!
Name the city I’m in, the *specific* monument and *specific* spot/title of this part of it that I’m at, and what is wrong with my BSJ in the photos below!
I had to tear out quite a bit of my BSJ… Can you spot the reason why? (Just saying I don’t pay enough attention doesn’t count!) Even if you haven’t worked this pattern you could be able to see why. I don’t need a specific line number – just the basic description is fine. Note that you can click on the pics to see a bigger version.
I’ll be back next week with another photo and another chance to win something cool.

You are in Berlin at the Berlin Wall’s East Side Gallery, at the painting Test the Best. Your BSJ did not have its neck stitches bound off.
I just knit one myself.
budapest?!!!!! i think that’s the national gallery, which means you’re on the chain bridge… i’m not sure what’s wrong with the bsj, is the right bottom a bit wonky?
budapest is great! i was there in may. go to the opera house, it’s absolutely beautiful.
You are in Berlin at the Berlin Wall, East Side Gallery, ‘Test the Best’ painting. I think you may have put button holes on both sides?? Hard to tell… Thanks! Andrea
Berlin, Berlin Wall, East Side Gallery…
It looks like you put button holes on both sides. The bottom corner turns look suspect too, but I think that is just the angle of the photo.
Too cool Em! Hope you are having a great time. Can’t wait to hear more about your adventures.
Oh crappers! This is the second segment in a row where the person in comment one has already put in what would have been my guess.
You are in Berlin and you are at the Berlin Wall’s East Side Gallery. The painting is called “Test the Best.” I’m going to say something different is wrong with the BSJ: You have bound off the stitches for the collar in the front (the jacket is folded in a way that you can’t see the edge) but you forgot to leave active stitches on the back because you were going to add a hood.
Thanks for the fun contest!
Wow – you guys are good! I was trying to make this one harder but Robyn aced it straight out of the gates! Robyn – shoot me an email so I can get your info to send you your prize once I’m back! emily at twistedpdx dot com. Thanks to everyone!!!!
OH, and PS, the Robyn will get a copy of the BSJ pattern and also a copy of Germany’s leading knitting magazine, Rebecca, straight from Berlin.
