WITWI Emilyshmemily Contest #2

Congrats to Lenka for figuring out all the answers to last week’s Where in the World is Emilyshmemily contest! The answer was the Sultanahmet (Blue) Mosque in Istanbul, Turkey. And the yarn was Schoppel Wolle Zauberball. Lenka wins a skein of Zauberball in her choice of colorway, and a handmade crocheted necklace from Turkey.

Courtney and Ann were both super close, too, though, so I’m going to send them some free Twisted patterns, cuz it was a pretty hard quiz. To the winners – please email me (emily at twistedpdx dot com) so we can get you your prizes!

Now let’s play some more Where in the World is Emilyshmemily!!!!

Where in the World is EmilyShmemily

Here are the rules (note slightly different from last week!):

  • If we’re friends and you actually straight up know where I am, sit on your hands and give someone else a chance.

  • Also, since I’m leaving soon for somewhere else, I won’t be back to moderate for about a week. So keep guessing until then!
  • The prizes are pretty rad (I think). A crafty souvenir from this place AND a copy of the pattern in question. I’ll even pay for slow as molasses shipping if you live in the US or Canada.
  • First person to post on this blog post with the correct answers to both of the questions below wins the prize!

Name the city and knitting pattern in the photos below!

Both photos show the same city. Note that you can click on the pics to see a bigger version.

I’ll be back next week with another photo and another chance to win something cool.

Cathy is too fast! I love that lion statue on the Danube and have had the Baby Surprise jacket in my queue for a year :P

I agree! And would add, I think that’s St. Stephen’s Basilica in the second pic.

Agreed. It’s St Stephen’s on the Pest side of the Danube. EZ’s Baby Surprise Jacket. maybe a socks that rock lightweight yarn. Cathy posting at 5 am deserves to get it!

Whoa, I am way too late. I do love the Chain Bridge in Budapest (it connects Buda to Pest), and you know, the lions have no tongues. I bet Budapest looks much different than it did 25 years ago when I was there and bought wooden circular needles at the farmers marker. (And obviously, EZ’s baby surprise)

St. Stephen’s looks so much better now that decades of soot have been cleaned off!

Budapest. Baby surprise. I know I’m not first, but I did figure it out. Traveling mercies, Emily!

You guys are too good! Congrats and mad props to Cathy!! Alex thought I should make people try to guess the yarn, too, and I thought that was too hard but Ann totally knows that’s the best thing in the universe to knit the best pattern ever out of. ;) Cathy – send me an email and claim your prize!!!
