Bad Oyster Shawl
If you could only pick projects based on the titel … this one would be numero uno! The Bad Oyster Shawl by Dull Roar (a.k.a. recently moved Twistedista Alex) is so called because it’s got no purls… Ha! I love it if only for that alone!
More to the point, though, this pattern is just as clever as its name. You knit a cone in the round, then steek to create a triangular scarf/shawl with instant fringe. It is the coolest thing you’ve ever seen.
My good friend Alessandra recently knit up a Bad Oyster in Malabrigo Sock colorway Velvet Grapes. She and a few friends came over to my place for the big steek and we took a video. Note this is NOT a how to, in fact it’s total chaos… complete with lots of giggling and some whiskey.
And here are the finished object photos!

Haha, this cracks me up. Tell Alessandra she rocks. Also I’m gonna have to swipe one of those pictures of Carat for my blog. Apologies in advance

That is so flipping awesome!
Alex- Thanks for the rad pattern! YOU rock.
This turned out so awesomely! I think Whiskey definitely helps give one the courage to Steek.
