Knitting under duress

Have you heard this story? A 98-year old woman, trapped under her bed during the earthquake in Italy, passed the time by knitting and crocheting. Yet another instance of crafting being good for the body AND the soul…

So, the moral of the story? Stressed about taxes? The economy? Life? KNIT. CROCHET. DO COUNTED CROSS-STITCH, EMBROIDERY, CREWEL. CRAFT, FOLKS, CRAFT. It will make you feel better. Seriously.

Everyone at work knows I knit….3 people here asked me if I heard this story. I of course said “see this is why I never go anywhere without yarn!”

Ho rah for knitters everywhere! May it keep us safe and healthy.

Good thing she had a stash under her bed! This story is amazing and awesome–what a head on her shoulders that woman had to stay calm and keep herself busy. I’m going to be citing this example to my husband as an excuse for stockpiling knitting supplies in every room.
